An increasing percentage of adults and adolescents are suffering from the effects of nighttime clenching and grinding; also known as Bruxism. The most visible signs range from flattening of all the teeth to chipping and cracking of some of teeth. More advanced signs may include headaches and the breakdown of the jaw joint, leading to telltale sounds and sometimes discomfort.
A night guard can reduce many of these symptoms and extend the life span of the teeth. It can ease joint symptoms and lessen the chances of further joint breakdown. And it is much easier to replace a worn out or broken night guard than it is to replace a mouthful of worn-out teeth.
